Adobe is about to release version 4.0 of Premiere for Windows. (Current version is 1.1a which sells for $199.00) It will retail for 699.00 and will have an introductory price of $499.00. I believe there may be competitve upgrades for it as well. If that is a little too rich for your blood, In:Sync puts out an excellent digital video editor called Razor for $199.00 (Razor Pro will be released next month for $799.00). All of these products offer plugin capabilites as well as DVE (digital video effects) including chroma-keying, fades, wipes, etc. They also support infinite video and audio tracks. They will accept AVI, Quicktime, FLC, sequential Targas, stills, and many other formats as well. There is no picking one over the other, it is all a matter of what requirements need to be met. I use them both and given the choice between them would be a difficult task. I hope this answered some of your questions. If not, drop me a line anytime. Dean Oliver Virtually Real
