Right, John. A newer, bigger, shinier HD is undoubtedly the way to clean up my system, which is getting MIGHTY crowded. In previous operating system incarnations, I've gone through this business of assigning system resources outside the boot partition, especially FONTS and LIBS. Everybody wants to stuff in more fonts of their own, and there are so many home-brew libraries around that I've long ago lost count. (Wish directories had a 'last used' entry so that I could identify which libraries could be gracefully retired). But a bigger HD with a much bigger boot partition will ease the crowding and, at least for a time, bring back sanity to the system. (Irrelevant quote of the week: "As far as Microsoft contracts are concerned, there ain't no sanity clause"). Thanks for the help. –Jim
