Hiya Jonas,
I agree with all you said, about the new IPAS 4 an' all, but it
would have been nice to get some new features as 'standard' with R4.
Most other 3D Packages now have particle motion (explode etc) and a spline
modeller as standard.
With 3DS you have to buy em separately (and 3DS costs more than the others) and
the particle systems from Yost are back from R2 for heavens sake..
The competition has been catching up and IPAS can be a double edged sword,
because an IPAS is out, that feature never becomes core product, even when it
should be.
