I've tried some NEC and other drivers, but was met with the same fate. FWB gave me a few good ideas, but even they failed. It's frustrating when I'm able to run every other program on the CD-ROM drive, and the Living Books stuff bombs. Until I sell this stuff, I've got plenty of time to research the best system. I hadn't considered PowerMAC actually until your post. I have to admit, though, the DX2's, DX4's and Pentiums seem to pack more bang for the buck in the packages I've seen. The fate of PowerMAC's leaves me a little uncomfortable too. As far as putting on a straight-jacket, I totally agree. No more using AZAP to change little do-dads in a program. Jumping between DirOpus and Imagine to make room on a hard disk while in the middle of a render. No more hard drive utilities that you honestly felt safe using because you've basically feel like you grew up with the guy who created it (DiskSalve for instance). I'm sure you can think of even more reasons. But the fact still stands that my current system is user friendly to only me. My family can't believe the steps they have to learn to run a simple kids game (on the EMPLANT) when they see other PC owners' kids booting up their systems and immediately launching whatever they want (these kids are only 3).
