One of the reasons that the 586e has been delayed is because Jim and Co. are
rewriting the video drivers so that they can run graphic intensive games like
DOOM. I have seen posts on Genie that the manuals for the 586e are in the
printing process and that the entire package is very close to release. Jim has
stated that any program that will run on a 486 based PC will also run on the
586e. You might consider waiting a couple of weeks before bailing out.
