You can format a diskette (or two if you have an extra floppy and still run another program while the disk(s) are formatting. That is, you can format a disk and continue to type or print on a word processor. I can print drawings for my wife while using a comm program to go in to Compuserve or an Internet provider or a local bulletin board. Try to format a disk in DOS or Windows and still do something else. The same goes for copying. You can load and run programs until you run memory. And a 3 Meg 7 MHz Amiga will do all this much faster than a 16 MHz 1-wait state 80386 DX with 5 Megs. I know, I use both.
