#Pearl Jam et al
I think 1 million would be high. Maybe I should go to http:www.sgi.com and see
if they've released any info…
As to Pearl Jam, Young, etc., it was great! Constitution Hall is about the
size of a large high school gym — seats 3000. But instead of being a stupid
gym, it is a restored historic building 3 blocks from the White House. Gloria
Stienem introduced the evening, and I liked listening to her (sounded a lot
more like a libertarian than any kind of militant feminist). Lisa Germano
played a half dozen songs (who is she and how did she get on the bill). Then
L7 came out. I didn't know about L7 before this show, but I ran out to buy one
of their CDs once I got back home. Then Young and Crazy horse came out to do a
set. Of course, all during this time there were various humorous comments
about Newtie, et al. Finally, Pearl Jam did a 1.5-2 hour set. All the music
was great, the cause was great and the audience was great. Did I mention that
it was a great show? The whole thing lasted from 8pm sharp 'til about 1:30 in
the morning and was run very professionally and smoothly.
