Very True about the sunspots, but Cable unlike the new DSS system does not
suffer from MPEG compression and while the DSS satellite says they have
150 channels I'm really not convinvced on the unit since I'd have to shell
out $700 for the Sat Dish and Decoder plus $35 a month for full service. I
guess I'll really have to go see a demo of it myself before I form a real
opinion but currently I can't see switching over to the DSS system simply
on the basis of COST.
Would ya happen to know where I can get a list of the 150 channels that
DSS is supposed to pickup? Also is there a Basic set of channels the DSS
Dish will pick up even if you decide NOT to subscribe to the full $30 or
$35 package?
It's definitely a wait and see deal for me, now if I were to move from
Brooklyn to the Catskills or Pennsylvania where I might not be able to get
the type of Cable Service I get here I'd probably JUMP on the DSS system
in a hot second.(I AM considering moving once I'm married to either Penn.
or the Catskills)
