Brad,
I have heard a rumor that Newtek will initially only ship to 4000 owners
because that version of the software is finished, whereas those with 2000 based
systems will have to wait a bit longer. Have you heard anything about this?
If true, then I would be getting my unit ahead of schedule and better get my
charge cards paid down in a hurry!
BTW, there's another reason why waiting for the Flyer isn't all that bad; The
price of hard drives is still dropping steadily. Hopefully Newtek will have
added more "approved" models to the list of those that will function properly
with a Flyer system. Locally I have seen prices on 9 gig units as low as $3200.
Supposedly there will be 20 gig drives shipping by Feb/March, further
pressuring smaller (never thought I would refer to anything over a gig as
smaller) drives down in price, thus making Flyer's price increases eaier to
take.
