The Lightwave mailing list is still alive and well. I'm still trying to get my new internet provider to pop some useful mail processing programs on-line to help out and the mailing list will be moved over to a system that can offer digests and newsgroup gating. In the mean time, anyone with internet access can send e-mail to "listserv@netcom.com" and include the following in the body of the message: subscribe lightwave-l end That's it. From that moment on, you'll be subscribed. A bit of a warning though. Sometimes there can be quite a number of messages. Some services also charge for e-mail. 🙁 There is an archive of past mailing list messages as well past newsgroup articles from "comp.graphics.packages.lightwave". You can "ftp" to "ftp.netcom.com" and look in "pub/dj/djmccoy/Lightwave" for the files. Alternately, you can also receive these files via e-mail by sending e-mail to "ftp-request@netcom.com". In the body of the message you can include commands like dir, ls, send, and help. If I wanted to see what was in the Lightwave directory, I would put "DIR /pub/dj/djmccoy/Lightwave" as the body of the message. Once I knew what the filenames were, I'd send "SEND You might also want to wonder around CIS and find where they're stashing the Usenet newsgroups and look for "comp.graphics.packages.lightwave". Although the mailing list sometimes has more hints and tips, something slips through on the newsgroup. Enjoy, Dan Daniel J. McCoy // CIS – 73742,3072 AP Engaged! \X/ Render 'till ya drop!
