Throw me something! "Hoppin' John" is a famous New Orleans dish, I thought. You eat it for good luck on New Years. The recipe is on the back of every bag of black-eyed peas. I love the stuff! It's basically peas, rice and sausage. BTW, I had trouble finding andouille sausage around here, so I called a Cajun restaurant and asked them where they get it. "Oh, we just use Hillshire Farms sausage." Hah! Plenty of brats around here, no andouille. 🙂
