A few suggestions to improve your REXX life:
When in doubt, turn on tracing. (Just put a TRACE R instruction near the
beginning of your program)
Enclose command names in quotes, so that no accidental variable substitution
takes place.
Enclose file names in quotes (A colon in a device spec will look like a label
definition to Arexx.)
If you're posting an example program here on Compuserve, put some leading
spaces in the lines to defeat the autoformatter here.
