Windows will absorb some of the power needed to keep animations playing quickly. Some people get around this problem by using a DOS player, such as AAPLHI.ZIP or PLAY80.ZIP (both in this forum). You might also get better results with a graphics card which has very good Windows Animation response. I believe that some of the cards from Diamond are pretty good. Also, if you have a high resolution flic, it will play slower than, say, a 320×200 flic. One major consideration is the amount of information which changes from frame to frame. You can check this out in AAPro, and compare it to, say, our sample UNIONSTA.FLC. This is a 640×480 flic but keeps a minimum change from frame to frame, and therefore plays quickly. You might have to redesign some of your animations for good speed playback.
