I talked to Doc Amiga (Dave Boulton) today about it. You are right, there is a difference between programs being called from WB and the CLI (*why*did*they*do*that*). You may have noticed that DiskCopy on 1.1 runs ONLY from the workbench (at least it gives you a polite message if you invoke it from CLI). Apparently, it would not be difficult to write a utility that would "launch" a program from WB that was originally intended to be invoked from CLI and (another utility?) vice-versa. The problem has to do with command line messages, as I rather hazily understood (CLI uses the c argc,*argv[] environment or something like it). When I invoked the program from WB it was expecting this command line trailer (or wasn't but got it)— anyway, it freezes up DOS. So the long & short of it is that the problem had nothing to do with icons or .info files, they are working OK. I know from your message this is nothing news to you, but maybe someone *else* without documentation like me might have been curious. I would think that such a launcher utility might be a very good item for the DL if it is fairly simple as was hinted to me. Thanks, -Larry Miller-
