My name is Bill Bond. I have been lurking for about a month while trying to get up to speed on Amiga Development. I am a Mac developer who recently got an Amiga development system. I have several products that are being published for the Mac. In particular, I have developed several communications products. I am also the author of "FreeTerm" which is a public domain Mac terminal program which supports text and xmodem sends/receives. I am interested in producing an Amiga version of FreeTerm. FreeTerm is written in C and it is my intent to port it. What I'd like to suggest is that we form an informal working group to help get everyone's Amiga "online". I see this as probably requiring two steps 1) a small Basic program which can be typed in to act as a bootstrap 2) an Amiga version of FreeTerm. From here users can move on to other programs if they wish. As a developer, I will probably start work on a more sophisticated version which I will publish (Amiga FreeTerm will be free). This approach was used succesfully to get our Macs online and I would like to see it applied again. Looking for comments… (P.S. I already have the Lattice C compiler and the developer docs)
