Robert, You are right, it should make no difference what the name of the file is. You may have a bad drive, but I doubt it as I presume it works for other tasks. Without being there to test it, I just don't know what else to tell you except to take an ARC file you have already downloaded and try to de-ARC it on your internal drive. If that works, then move everything over to the external drive and try the exact same thing…it should work. Don
