#ArticFox
A good game? Good intentioned, I guess. It's a Battlezone-like tank combat
simulation in the frozen North. However, it has more strategy than the arcade
action of Battlezone.
There are some nice 3-D graphics routines, a good sense of strategy and a fair
amount of depth. However, the graphics are all flat planes or filled-in wire
frames. And the animation is FAR from smooth.
I wanted to like it more than I did but I found it just too slow moving and
jerky. Frankly (I'm embarrassed to say), a Firebird program for the Atari ST
called (I think) Glider Pilot uses 3-D wire frame graphics and has speed that
puts Arctic Fox to shame (just giving it the eyeball test, that is).
