George,
Interlace is for certain types of graphics and also for a proper match
with VCR's for certain types of output. Generally, you'd not use it.
As far as downloading, we have help files here in DL 1 that go into a
full explanation of most of the features of the Forum, and you should read
those files, but a quick rundown of an Xmodem download goes as follows:
1. From the forum function prompt, type DL 1 (or whatever DL # you wish to look
at).
2. You will get a DL ! prompt. At that prompt, you type BRO (for BROwse) and
you will get a description of the first file in the Data Library and then an
"action" prompt.
3. If you wish to download that particular file via Xmodem, you select Download
from the menu, or just type D at the prompt.
4. You will then be given a list of methods of downloading. Xmodem is listed
as #1 as Xmodem(MODEM7). Enter the number 1.
5. You will then be given a prompt to go ahead and initiate the transfer and to
enter a CR when done.
6. At this point, you set up your terminal program to download, normally by
going up into the menu bar and holding down the right mouse button. You select
Xmodem Receive or whatever your terminal program equivalent is.
7. Once your terminal program is set up and you have entered the filename, it
will go ahead and start the download and let you know when it is done.
8. After it is done, you enter a CR (Carriage REturn), and you'll get a brief
menu of the file you just downloaded. You enter another CR and you'll get a
description of the next file in the database.
9. This goes on until you enter M at the action prompt, to return to the DL !
prompt and then E to exit back to the forum Funciton prompt.
10. If you don't want to download the file, at the action prompt, merely enter
a CR and you will be given the next description in the file.
