Egad bug reports
This message turned up in search, but its forum couldn’t be identified from the original transcript, so it may not be linked into its thread.
Now that EGAD ver 1.0 is posted up here, I'm now looking for any bugs,
problems, or sugesstions from everyone who has played with it. If you
haven't used it, I'll try and explain a little about how to use it here.
The program has been uploaded here "EGAD.ARC" and includes the executable
and an accompanying document file. Although I haven't seen the file,
because Ray Larson modified it to reflect his latest changes on the
program, It should be enough to get started.
I'm now preparing a detailed report and all known bugs, and will post
them on section 10 (Programming) for all to download and use. I have
"Workarounds" for almost all of the bugs, and also will be preparing a
document which I will post here (As soon as I can prune it down to 44
lines).
I'm now going to be reading some of the furum messages now that I have
time so please address me here.
EGAD is a program used to interactivly draw Amiga Gadgets in a working
window and actually "test" them without having to compile them as
statically declared globals in your source code.
Instead, you can draw them in a window, and postition and size them
wherever you like. Then, you can save them to disk in a compacted form
and recall them later. Or, you can actually generate source code and
run that code through the compiler. The code generated is correct and
commented C code and compiles using the Manx. I need other people to
test it with Lattice.
In my next message, I'll explan a little about how to report bugs
(There are a lot of them), and problems so I can swiftly deal with them.
I already know a lot of them, so if one gets posted that I KNOW ABOUT,
I'll usually acknowledge it.
