Yes, that's true, there are devices that allow A2000 expansion cards to
be used with the A500. But, they will either sit under the A500, or beside the
A500 and have to be physicaly attached to the system unit. Since that also
holds the keyboard, moving the combination around is going to be a pain. I
know that I'm constantly adjusting my position as I type, and that usualy means
moving the keyboard also…that wouldn't be a good idea with the A500+expansion
combination. Also, the expansion unit that fits under the A500 raises it about
2 inches off the desktop. That's not real comfortable for typing.
However, as you state…it is an alternative to an A2000 and while the
combination is only a bit cheaper than an A2000 by it's self, you do have the
option of buying them separately so your cost could be spread out over a period
of time.
