SCSI (continued)
(continuation of SCSI questions)
I'm also wondering if the 2090 supports multiple LUNs on a single
controller. Reading thru the doc I've seen no discussion of how to specify
LUNs, only the SCSI device. The HP controller/drive setup I'm using has 2 20
Meg drives off a single controller. (I've currently only got one of the two
drives hooked up, makes it a lot simplier to test with.)
Does the 2090 automatically take care of multiple drives off a single
controller by making the second drive (LUN 1) the next higher UNIT in the
mountlist? Or does it even support multipe drives off a single controller,
meaning that my second HP mechanism is unusable till I get a second HP SCSI
controller card? (This same thing applies to people who have Adaptec or other
SCSI controllers that can handle more than one HD. How do they specify which
drive on the single controller?)
On a related subject, is there an approved method for an Amiga program
to access a SCSI device other than a HD? Is there a scsi.device I could open
and use to talk to SCSI devices? That would make things a lot easier since
programs wouldn't have to know if there was a CBM SCSI interface or a Supra or
a C.Ltd, etc. they could just talk to a standard SCSI driver.
