Here is the fix per the bulletin by CBM Amiga. Hitek type keyboard used with A2000 pcb REV 4.0 or 4.1 can exhibit a loss of the first character typed after power-up or reset. There are two types of keyboards for the A2000, the Hitek which can be distinguished by the black shield visible between the key spaces and the Cherry which is a ligheter weight and has a tan color visible between the key spaces. Refer to page 14 of A2000 system schematics Locate keyboard connector CN300. Follow *KBCLK signal to C910 1000pF cap, remove C910. Follow *KBDATA Signal to C911 1000pF cap, remove C911. Both capacitors C910, C911 are located on the PCB directly off the keyboard connector CN300. It will be necessary to remove the drive chassis in order to access these locations. This mod is only for the Hitek keyboard, and should only be performed by an authorized service center. I am only posting this info for the benifit of other dealers that may not receive this info in a timely manner. Ralph Landry Michigan Software
