My comment was not to say that these new items were not useful. Clearly they were at least useful to the people who wrote them. My point is more that nearly all of these toys are useful only to CLI users, and even among CLI users the ones who will use them are primarily developers. Joe User who knows about the CLI (which puts him in the 10% minority of Amiga users) will still probably never use pipes, or the AUX device, or… And then we have the average user, who never uses the CLI (about 80% to 90% of Amiga owners fall in this category). To them these thingies are virtually useless.
