Standard upgrade cost has been set at $75. However, actual
cost may vary, so you should call upgrades to check on your
status.
You can get one when we get the doc back from our printer. As
soon as this happens, I'll let you know.
What you get is a brand-new compiler. Features include full
ANSI compatibility (more so than L****** currently has),
greatly
improved code generation over 3.6a, optional generation of
in-line workbench calls, ability to easily create resident
libraries, lotsa new compiler options, and a 25% decrease in
compile times over 3.6a. (this is NOT an exhaustive list).
I believe we are taking orders at this time for the upgrade.
However, you'll have to call our update dept. for details.
There were a number of reasons why 5.0 has been late. Among
them: the desire to have as many features as possible, problems
w/ documentation (as mentioned above), and Jim Goodnow's
recent wedding threw off the development process somewhat
(Dorothy wouldn't allow Jim to bring his Amiga on the
honeymoon,
as I understand it). In addition, we're committed to bringing
out a product that is as rock-solid as possible, and we have
slipped several dates in order to fix problems in the beta
versions.
BTW, our the number of our update dept. is (201)389-0290. Manx can also be
reached by fax @ (201)542-8386.
