Adobe font dl now avail?
A new program is now available for downloading Adobe fonts to Adobelicenced
postscript printers. It's called PSFont and it was for sale everywhere at the
World of Commodore in Toronto.
It's by "Canadian Software Developers" and carries a suggested price of $129
Canadian (about $100 US), although at the show I saw it discounted as low as
$99 Canadian. The address on the package is Progressive Distributing, 4
Caithness Ave., Toronto, Ont., Canada M4J 3X7 and the phone number is (416)
466-6450 (fax 466-7542).
I picked up a sample printout which includes the following:
"This text is done in the Garamond font … using Professional Page 1.3.
Without PSFont you would have no way of printing out the Garamond font or any
of the other 250+ Adobe Postscript(tm) fonts on the Commodore Amiga(tm).
PSFont allows the Amiga Desktop publisher to download MS-DOS Adobe(tm)
Postscript
I tried to find someone to ask questions of, but nobody knew anything except
what was written on the package, not even the guy at the Gold Disk booth.
Someone told me the program was written by Domenic and he was in the Amiga
Developers Forum booth off and on, but he wasn't there when I looked for him.
(I don't have a postscript printer yet, so I didn't buy the program either.)
