Bill, I'm very sorry to hear that your board is still not working perfectly.
Jeeze. Anyway, what is the serial # of your board? If it's under 398, you
have the old PAL chips and they will replace them for free. While you're at it
you may want to upgrade your edge connector (if you don't have the blue
double-female one). That costs $10. When I sent my board in for PAL and edge
connector upgrades, they returned it in a decent amount of time and charged me
only $10, though the bill showed over $100 worth of work, covered by the
warranty. At least they've been darn good about repairs.
Be sure to read the messages starting at #51952 from E. J. Lippert of C. Ltd.
He describes a serious problem internal to the Amiga (regarding slow PAL chips)
which can be the cause of problems like you're experiencing. He'll sell you
replacement PALs for $23 if you can install them/have them installed yourself
(involving desoldering the old PALs from the Amiga daughter board — not for
the faint of heart). If you want him to do it, it's $50. I think that with
this fix and the T-S fix, your board will not only work perfectly, it'll also
pass through correctly so that you can add 3 or 4 more devices after the T-S
board.
For the T-S end of this deal, start by calling them at (801) 268-4961.
Explain the problem and have your serial # handy. They will probably tell you
to send the board in for the PAL upgrade. It should cost you no more than a
phone call, shipping costs and possibly the $10 for the new edge connector.
Please let me know what you do and how it works out… >Bela<
