Eric,
Hmmmm….
Well, Backer crashed my machine when I tried running two copies of it so that
I could back up both partitions at once. The reason I wanted to do this is that
Backer is a bit (okay, _very_) slow. I have a 60 mb drive and it took almost
four (count em, _four_) hours to back up both partitions one at a time. The
disk is only 20% full. What would it be like when it gets closer to full (as it
is beginning to do)? If I could have backed up both partitions simultaneously,
it would have been a bit better, since the bottleneck was clearly the floppy
drive.
Quarterback does this in about an hour. Both partitions. Using two floppies.
It doesn't crash the machine. It restored all the files in about an hour. Both
partitions. Using two floppies. It didn't crash the machine.
Quarterback does, in fact, save the date/time stamps, filenotes and all
protection bits. It restores these items automatically.
I don't know, maybe it's just me…I think Quarterback is a better deal, even
though it's more expensive.
