Betty, You were so helpful telling me how to locate the various un-archiving files I was looking for, I hope you can help me utilize them. I am new to downloading and its nuts and bolts, but I feel that I've followed all instructions very precisely, and am very frustrated with my lack of results. I will bring you up to date as to the status of my situation, and will try to be as specific as possible. My system consists of: Amiga 500 w/ built-in floppy drive (DF0) 501 Expansion (1 MG ram) One external floppy drive (DF1) Quantum IVS 80 MG hard drive (DH0) w/ Trumpcard 500 1084s Commodore color monitor Viva 24 Hayes compatible Modem Citizen GSX 140 Printer I downloaded the following files via Compuserve using Quick B @ 1200 7E1, with no errors. When prompted for a name for my computer, I specified DF0:filename and thus downloaded each file to DF0 and had them all on one disk(s) (by type) ARC.EXE ZOO.EXE LHARC.EXE ARCHLP.EXE SV3.ZOO/B MOSTRA.LZH/B KELLY BUNDEY CHESS PIPELINE0 WHP19C.LZH/BINARY I clicked on ARCHLP.EXE and it said to put Arc in my Cdirectory by typing Copy arc c:arc -this didn't work. I'm afraid I don't recall the error message for that. In any case, I contacted Wayne at PC Help; my Amiga expert; and he told me that I should put the un-archiving files on the same disk as the files I want to expand, and then type LHARC x filename and, voila, a program; and that they didn't have to be in my C di- rectory. But no matter which files were on which disks, no matter which files I tried to use with which files, and no matter what combination of syntax I tried after the initial correct one failed, I recieved the same error message, Unknown command LHARC or Unknown command ARC etc. Then I was told that very possibly the un-archiving files themselves were archived and that I needed one to unpack the other, and that one to open the next, etc. etc. So I tried ARC x ZOO.EXE and received Unknown command ARC. Please help me regain my sanity. Thank you, ***Jeff***
