Most of what you say I've already dealt with;
As for Whap! and etc shareware and PD stuff, I view it as competition,
healthy competition. Also as a safty net – since there are really very few
Amiga developers, and very few new Amiga products (despite hype to the
contrary, IMHO) All of that PD stuff is at least a minimum promise to a
user that they can do some things with their machine if CBM blows it.
I have *no* position on what a developer does with their product. Sell
direct, dealers, distributors, shareware, freeware, PD, license, or
destroy. I have a position that I believe a forward thinking Amiga
–>USER<– should consider, and that is, don't support the mail order
houses, as they are hurting the dealer base, and without a dealer base, I
think the machine will fail.
