tb+ and uucp spoofing

steve, well, that wasn't quite what i meant…by setting register 111 to 0, you're telling the modem 'don't spoof'. so, the pep format gets overlaid on the uucp g protocol, and it winds up with a throughput ofabout 1200-3000 bps. this is not optimal. your feed will take a longer time to download. what i meant was to spoof when polling for news, and not spoof when sending something out. the problem comes when amiga uucp tries to act in the master mode, instead of slave. i got mail from dillon, he doesn't own a telebit. he can't really test it, then. you wouldn't know anyone who can reverse engineer the software, would you? i haven't a c compiler/debugger, nor the expertise to do it. i guess they'd need information on the g protocol, too, huh? the thing is, why does it work with unix implimentations, and not the modem? —Andrew
