Paul, You will probably get scads of replies for this one, because it is relatively easy to correct. The 'FF' program is simply a fast fonts program. It is not necessary. You can either delete it from your startup-sequence or copy FF from your C directory on the diskette to the C directory on your hard drive. The toughest things that you might encounter would be based upon the question, 'what did your harddrive's startup-sequence have on it that your diskette's startup-sequence doesn't have on it?" For example: Did your hard drive startup any background programs such as a clock or a screen saver program? Did it install anything else like an IBM emulator card or perhaps a non-volatile ram disk? FF is an example of such a background program that in itself is not required, but can be nice. Bob Rakosky is right about a backup program. In years that I have had my Amigas, I have had hard disk crashes about once a year. Usually as a result of something silly that I did. It only took once, for me to buy a hard disk backup program. Now that I am using it at work, even daily backups of my important files is not often enough. I get a lot of stuff done in one day of computer hacking… typing… whatevers and to lose it all can be a real downer. Hope this all helps. Jerry
