RE: Bad design..
The MicroBotics HardFrame (power problems come to mind)
The MB 8-UP! (seems to be things ranging from RF noise to
motherboard revision)
The Commodore 2052 (overheating)
The C= 2090 (just bad)
The C= 2091 (location 0 software conflicts)
The C= Genlock for the A2000 (just bad)
The C= de-interlacer seems to be a late addition to the list.
FlickerFixer (just kidding!)
The GVP 3001 accelerator (numerous compatability problems, overheating)
The C= '030 board (compatability problems to a lesser degree, but not as
compatable as the CSA MMR!) Some stories of pretty costly run-arounds with
this one, though, as well as the 2091.
The SupraModem 2000zi (not very software-compatable, although I always
thought internal modems were silly).
Those off the top o' my head. The above represent some pretty significant
investments money-wise (at least) with which to get burned.
Good luck..
