Harry, if your son will watch the Usenet messages, he can find good used 2000s and 2500s at very good prices, sometimes with almost everything one might ask already on them, and with some pretty good software included. If he is majoring in Computer Science, I would think he might need the A3000UX rather than just the 3000. Most colleges are teaching the Unix system to their students these days, and the 3000UX is getting mighty good reviews. Of course, the educational offers on all of the Amigas are very good – but most of those students who are trying to sell their machines are very much aware of the educational pricing, and are putting their machines at prices below that. If he really wants a new machine, I should think he would be happy with either the 2000 or the 3000, but for his major, I'd think the 3000UX would be the best. Betty
