Ethan,
How significant is the problem described below:
I had stated that, based on the messages I got in this forum I inferred
that the Amiga was a "better machine for any thing that smacks of color
animation, video frame grabbing and output etc."
I recieved this reply:
Frame grabbing – or anything that involves still color graphics, for that
matter – is generally stronger on the Mac. That's because of a consistent
and well-supported 24-bit (16 million color) graphic environment. Even if
you stay 8-bit, I prefer that to the myriad of graphic "standards" on the
Amiga, each with its own limitations. Although there are exceptions, most
still graphics on the Amiga are not as impressive as plain 8-bit on the
Mac, and the mix of standards adds confusion and incompatibility – i.e. you
can cut and paste between 8-bit images on the Mac with relative ease (some
palette considerations), but it is not as trivial to cut and paste between
Amiga images that are in incompatible graphic modes. Further, the Mac lets
you work with multiple such images on the screen at once (each in its own
window), whereas on the Amiga, each picture is likely to be a full "screen"
that can not be completely and independantly sized and moved. On the Mac,

{I will send you the rest of this when I get it, if it looks interesting}
