Bill, I seem to recall that same thing about not being able to select "slow-color" in hi-res. Maybe it just isn't an option? Anyway, when you digitize a color picture with Digi-view, you will probably see artifacts from the color subcarrier. This looks like a fine grid texture laid over the picture. I use this old VCR color processor from Radio Shack to kill the color before digitizing. If you're freeze-framing a B&W picture you should be ok without using a color killer….
