Scott, My point was that although HAM-E delivers 18-bit color addressability (out of a 24-bit palette) from a certain technical standpoint, there aren't enough pixels to display all 16M (24 bits) colors simultaneously.. Rather, there are barely enough on a 640×400 (or 768×480 overscan) picture to display 256K (18 bits) colors simultaneously. Unless the spacial resolution is higher than that, color resolution grater than 18 bits is not a great asset.
