2MB floppy on my A3000

I have had an A3000 since about April or May. I borrowed a HD floppy disk
from my dealer today, tried to format it, and it came out as 880K. If this
is true about getting nearly 2 megs from a floppy, it must be the drives,
or something in the newer 3000s.
