John, Unfortunately, I believe the reporter is probably still recuperating from the verbal thrashing that the local dealer gave him and the paper. Although it makes me chuckle, I'm not sure how productive that is, since he undoubtably thought he was getting the straight poop from the Commodore spokesman. Most journalists seem to be unaware as we are that most non-technical people who work for Commodore must first pass a test to prove that they are incapable of understanding market economics or how to run a reasonably-sized corporation. A phone-call to that 1-800 number to find the "Amiga dealer nearest you" didn't even have my dealer in it. Idiots. Ahem. I should be more upbeat. They seem to be improving in the larger sense with new Amiga hardware, the release of 2.04, licensing of the chipset to a laptop mfgr., radio advertising, high-density floppies, etc. So I guess I should be more patient. And then the morons announce a Xmas price-reduction in the magazines but don't work out the details with the dealers, so they don't have to sell machines at less than their cost. If they're improving, that's the right direction, but they have a long way to go in the day-to-day running of things. Disappointed that my beloved Amiga isn't better served, Karl – via Whap!
