I'm using the 3000-16. It's not as fast as the 25MHz model, but it's a
*lot* faster than the 500 I used to use. And as far as I know, you *can*
stick a 68040 card of any speed into it if you can afford it.
The main problem with it is that I'm still loading the OS from disk instead
of ROM and so I'm a little short on memory. A lot of my programs end up
getting loaded into the memory that the CPU has to share with the custom
chips and thus run slower. But I should point out that you'd have this
exact same problem on a 25MHz unit unless you either throw in more than the
standard amount of RAM or get the ROM (thus freeing up 512K of RAM).
