It's easy to see what makes them think the Amiga is a "game machine". They simply don't know about the capabilities of the machine, and if you try to tell them, they don't care. Plus, if you go into any big software store (Software Etc., Walden Software, and so on..) you'll find ACRES of MS-DOS stuff, a few good stuff for Apple/MAC, and, if they carry anything for the Amiga at all, it's all GAMES!! If you want any productivity software for the Amiga, you have to either mail-order it, or go to an "authorized dealer" who sells Amigas. To IBM folks, the Amiga is simply a big C-64. I know better, but only because I just happened to get a primer on the Amiga from a friend who owns one. No help from Commodore Marketing people. Oh, and plus the IBM folks talk endlessly about the "tons" of "lowcost" (read: $80) shareware and copied programs they can immediately fill up their hard disks with as soon as it starts to spin. I, on the other hand, would have to *buy* software. Gee, what a shame. —–Dave
