I think you'd do better with an 40 mhz 386 and pocket the change… But the point you make with the A2000 being too dang expensive is well taken. Apparently, the A2000 is being purchased these days mostly for its video capabilities, and Commodore figures these people won't mind paying extra. That makes the A500 the computer for the masses, the A2000 the computer for the video/multimedia segment, the A3000 for the high end power user market. I think it's a lousy strategy, too… – via Whap!
