It depends on how you measure the two programs… Photoshop does things in our industry that imagemaster probably doesn't… I'm not very familiar with your product though so please don't take this personally… Can you program handle 2D affects such as unsharp masking or 3D effects such as spherize? What about RGB-CMYK conversion and how is the quality? How well does your program edit 40meg files? Another twist is that Photoshop has a lot of industry support…. For instance one of our machines is a Quadra 950… THats a 33mhz 68040 machine… If you run an unsharp masking filter on it, it may take say 10mins for a 100meg image… With the special RISC co-processor board installed, that speed goes down to 6.5mins…. Those numbers aren't real.. just for the sake of comparison… So if you are running a lot of larger files and doing image processing, having a mac to run photoshop will save you a ton of time compared to even a 33mhz 040 amiga… Amiga's don't have the industry support for such things as Risc processor boards.. Or video cards that actually function in CMYK instead of RGB….. There's also the question of networks.. On a mac we can copy files over an ethernet network… Just using File-Sharing…. Its built-in networking that a 5 year old could handle… Any existing amiga networking scheme is MUCH harder to setup, and requires much more knowledge.. And of course forget trying to hook the amiga up to share files with macs that other people might have in the office… In theory your software is wonderful and I'd very much like to try it out and become more informed… But there are these certain problems that (no matter how good your software is) cannot be solved…. So people keep using macs in production work, and people at home keep buying macs just to avoid the hassel of moving files/back forth… [continued in the reply]
