Greg, I'm having some sort of problem with my A2000 running 2.04 and need some assistance in figuring it out. If you'd consider helping me out, I really appreciate it! Here's the problem: about a month ago I started getting a series of recoverable alerts (error $7FFFFFFF i think) whenever I turned the machine on. I was unable to get to the workbench or complete the boot; the recoverable alert showed up twice, then I got the red flashing system failure screen. So, then I booted from a floppy (my copy of WB 2.04, no changes were made at all). Next I restored my entire sys: partition from a backup. That at least allowed me to boot up the computer and get to the workbench. BUT, there's still another problem that hasn't gone away. The second and persisting problem is this: I turn on the computer, get the gray screens, and a console window opens (i think that's what you call it–similar to the cli window). it echoes the WB version and all and goes about its' business. However, at the last moment, the following message is written to the console window: unable to create a new node Then that console window closes and I'm at the workbench. I'm completely stymied since this hasn't happened before. To make matters worse, I called CBM who referred me to my local dealer. Well, no one seems to know what this means. I looked through the 2.04 Includes an Autodocs and the Libraries volumes, but can't find any error message that says that. HELP! I'm stumped on this one completely. I used a virus checker to scan for viruses, and still no go. Do you have any suggestions or insight about this? Tim Trompeter
