Mathew, Escape, Control-X, Control-Q are far more intuitive than F7. Even Control-Z would have been better (in my mind). How about F3 for Help? Wouldn't F1 have been a bit more intuitive? The point being that it seems that WP simply started thinking up things they'd need, and then picked the next key available…with no logic or ordering to the keys. If you've used WP products before…fine, you know the keystrokes, but if you haven't…there is nothing intuitive (in my mind…and I've been using computers for close to 30 years) about their setups. It'd be fine if you could put up a screen menu for novices, and have the option of turning the menu off as you've learned it. Then who cares what keys they use for what…as long as you can see them no problem. As to standardization…not really. We use a UNIX version of WP at work and even though our keyboards have alt, shift and control keys (that do send different codes) WP in it's infinite wisdom decided to use the F12, F13 and F14 keys instead of shift, alt and control. To delete a line is even more fun, F13-Keypad 1-keypad period. You may like WP, and that's fine for you….my opinion of the program is that I don't like it and basically refuse to use it. I will give the windows version of it a try at work, and if I like it…fine (BTW…it will NOT be run in DOS keystroke compatability mode), and if I don't like it…then I'll get AmiPro even if I have to buy it myself.
