> I have a bias that more people would want to do this if they knew the leverage > 3-D gives over 2-D. Right now I think 3-D is a well kept secret. This is sure the key, Mitchell. I have bought, used, and discarded more 2D programs than I care to think about, on many platforms, and the rub was always that a 2D program requires some degree of artistic talent, whereas 3D programs are a triumph of technology over talent. I'd be preaching to the choir here to mention that even someone who couldn't draw worth a damn can put together pictures and animations to shame Disney (well — at least MATCH them) with 3DStudio — that's what the clincher is. Nowhere in any advertisement, review, or article have I seen this fact well articulated: that creating a 2D representation of 3 dimensional space requires real skill that most people do not posess, whereas the computer can handle this with effortless grace and ease.
