SCSI I is no better defined than IDE, while SCSI II is better defined. However, look at the numbers of each type of controller, I bet IDE is the majority, so that'd make it standard, and SCSI II above standard 🙂 I'm not arguing that IDE is better, I'm just saying that it has it's place. (If you don't need the SCSI bus, you can get by just fine with IDE. And to say SCSI is better just because of DMA is wrong too, because not all SCSI controllers are DMA. My point was that there are better interfaces than SCSI, and does that make SCSI substandard, again I think not. I've worked with all the interfaces you mentioned above, except for IPI, (what's that from? Just curious…) Bob Comer To have substandard, you have to have a clear standard, and there isn't any such thing when it comes to Amiga's and PC's.
