Julio, check out the Editizer, a PC based editor for around $2000. That and the Videomedia OZ are apparently excellent PC type editors that are rapidly replacing traditional boxes. I'm using a CMX300, but for $11,000 grand today you can get alot of gear. Also check out the new Sony EVO9850 Hi8 decks. You could shoot hi8 (with a good 3chip camera or one chipper) and edit to umatic with built in TBC, drop out compensator, frame accurate time code, Umatic dub out, etc. This is my favorite set up these days – I wouldn't ever think of shoot with 3/4 again (though I do use betacam alot) when you can get such good results with Hi8.
