It probably has to do with the fact my problems have always been fairly
dramatic.
Last June, I looked at the Composite output (for the first time in a month
– I really don't use the Toaster for much more than 24bit RGB graphics),
and it was all messed up. (Poor sync was causing 'flagginf' on the top of
the image, and I got a blue (or red?) screen during Toaster startup which
indicated a Toaster error. They fixed it w/o question in a few days (paid
for overnight shipping in both directions too!).
This time, the Toaster was preventing my system from powering up, and I
had isolated it to the Toaster board, so they couldn't really say 'must be
your Amiga'.
I have found that a pleasant tone of voice and courtesy will get me a lot
further with any of these phone jockeys. Could this be your problems?
(Though I could see as to how you might be a little annoyed with them by
now. :^)
Maybe your luck will change with the new year? (One can hope.)
Thanks,
Erik Flom
