Erik: The 68040 is notorious for running very hot; usually the accelerator boards have a small muffin fan or huge heat sink mounted right on the chip. You may consider adding another fan for better ventilation! BTW, there is one test where my machine excels, and almost matches the A4000 in speed: the TGTest. (where text is scrolled in windows) this may be because I have CPUBlit installed in my system, which I CANNOT live without. The TG-Test on AIBB ended up showing performance close to A4000 levels! Actually, all the tests that check the speed of CHIP RAM access on my system were a bit better than the "reference" A3000; perhaps I have nice, quick RAM chips installed there? <g> The FAST RAM tests were a hair slower than the reference, which used Static Column RAM (which I know I DON'T have in the FAST RAM. May all the joys of the season be yours to share with the ones you love! Thanks again for your help! — "'AutoPilot ready, Captain.' 'Engage, Number One!'" — Dave
