John, I wrote A^2 already and their answer was that with some A1000, the PAL
chips are either improperly grounded or should be replaced. I am sure that
you have also heard about those PAL chips in AWorld or AmazComp. mags. I do
wonder, since you do not seem to have problems like mine with LIVE!: when did
you purchase your Amiga (mine was acquired in December 1986 – an early model
presumable; no half-brite for example). I will certainly inquire more about
my slight LIVE! problems. BTW, what do you do with LIVE! Are you primarily
involved in Amiga/video creations (paint, animations, digitizing)? That's
what I got mine for exclusively (we now use IBM P/S2's at my business: I
always thought that, for example installing more memory or even a hard disk
into the Amiga was a bit more problematic than with, say IBM & clones). I
have had a chance to see kids from the neighboring elem. school (I volunteer
there in the Enrichment Program) light up when seeing what can be done when
you hook together video & computers: computers provide video with effects and
interactivity, while video provide computers with animation and the
capability to record computer generated material. TV goes beyond itself to
video, computers are no longer printer bound for output.
Let me know Roger
